Pietermaritzburg – Top contenders for The Unlimited Dusi canoe marathon Hank McGregor and Len Jenkins have made a last minute change to their set-up for the three day race that starts at Camps Drift on Thursday morning, seeking to get the best out of their K2 combination that will line up against a very strong field in the seeded A batch.

Efforts to rid the Umgeni River of hyacinth have been given a new breath of life thanks to the efforts of Working For Water, who have pulled out all the stops in the latest removal effort, bringing in a helicopter to spray the alien weeds.
One of the best athletes that South Africa has ever produced, Zola Budd, confirmed her participation in the Comrades Marathon which will be held on 3 June 2012 from Pietermaritzburg to Durban.
The Unlimited Dusi takes place on February 16, 17 and 18. The race has become the biggest Canoe Marathon in the world, but few understand the significance and history of the world famous event.
Natal canoe club, the organisers of the world’s biggest canoe marathon, The Unlimited Dusi, report that all is going well with preparations for the event in January.
